Include women in the sequel. Work!
This kept me going in the exam phase. Hamilton in general. My obsession with this musical has kept going for four months now (And then I discovered In the Heights. I’m lost in musical theatre). I think I will dedicate a whole post to the effects it had on me, it is such an amazing piece of art. And Renee is wonderful. Obviously.
Let us take a quick glimpse at almost exactly three years ago… This has been quite a journey, hasn’t it?
What do I say to people who ask me how to draw?
Grab a pencil and begin. I know it sounds too simple. But maybe it is just like that.
You don’t need a fancy sketchbook, you don’t need any equipment (most of the art supplies available I have never even heart of!) A pencil and a piece of paper. A wish to create.
Look at how I started off and how it developed over the years. Over the hundreds of pictures I drew. Then again, you never stop to learn, which is a great thing. For example, I haven’t really found an art style yet. I try this and that, peek into this and copy and practise and look at other artist’s works. That’s the wonderful thing about art, you never stop creating, developing, you never stop seeing art in a little different way … from a creator’s perspective.
I just want to thank you for all your support, your lovely messages and for accompagning me on this little art journey. It means a lot.
I just love this woman so so much.
Look at that, it’s my 500th post! Isn’t that just incredible? It seems only a while ago I started this blog! In a process of over 300 drawings I have improved so much that I actually sometimes quite like what I am doing now. Artists are never satisfied, of course.
I’ve wanted to draw her for such a long time now, especially after her concert. Now I finished it! This drawing is inspired by her new music video of ‘Send my love (to your new lover’, go watch it, it’s brilliant!
It was so much fun to sketch, I’ve never done a drawing with different layers, quite interesting.
The concert. It’s already been some weeks and I still cannot believe that I was there. I am, however, so grateful for this experience. The show was absolutely amazing, not too much, very focused on her voice and not on special effects. She emerged out of the ground to sing ‘Hello’ and went at the end surrounded by rain … Magical. I especially enjoyed the acoustic versions she did in the middle of the concert. She is such a sweet, funny and adorable person I was laughing and crying the whole time.
Carrie Hope Fletcher now plays in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and she looks just gorgeous, I had to draw her!
I made this for a dear friend’s birthday, Troye just published an album ‘Wild’ which is really cool 🙂
Look at this sweetheart, I love her voice and what she’s talking about in her videos. And look at these adorable curls!!!
She really liked my drawing which is wonderful and even posted it on her video today. Please have a look on that, she shows ways to overcome creative blocks.
