‘T Was Such a Little, Little Boat

‘T was such a little, little boat
That toddled down the bay,
‘T was such a gallant, gallant sea,
That beckoned it away!

‘T was such a greedy, greedy wave,
That licked it from the coast;
Nor ever guessed the stately sails,
My little craft was lost.

(Emily Dickinson)

Who doesn’t love Emily Dickinson’s poetry…

I did this painting for my aunt as a birtday present. She loves the sea and sailing so that is what I painted. As always, I used only three colours: blue, a dark red and ochre, adding some contrasts with white and black. It’s acrylics on canvas, 30×30 cm.
