A little habour…

Here’s a little watercolour painting I made for my father as an easter present – a little habour in spring.

It’s a bit the ‘style’ of my sketchbook because of the black lines. How to paint such a picture?

First you create a colour space in green and pink (the sky, background and sea), then add the little houses and boats. You have to know, where the light is coming from to add some shades. It makes the picture more natural and realistic.
The most difficult part are the reflections of the boats, I’m really not sure how to do it the right way…

After it you add some flowers and the tree in the left corner (be sure not to put too much colour in the edges of the paper. Little children do that when drawing the sun, but it’s not a good way of construction…). Finally you draw the most important lines with a black fineliner pen or some ink. – And that’s it! 😀

I hope you like my little painting!
